Boston police shot a man on Monday afternoon during a drug investigation in South Boston, according to Boston Police.
At about 1PM, officers arrived at 371 Old Colony Ave. for a drug investigation. The officers observed a man who matched the description of the suspect, who allegedly fled the scene when he saw police. The officers gave chase and the man suspect began shooting at the officers, police said. Officers returned fire and shot the man in the chest.
The suspect was transported with life threatening injuries to Tufts Medical Center. The officers involved in the chase were transported to area hospitals for evaluation, according to police.
