The two biggest obstacles impeding entrepreneurs of color are money and mentorship. Recently, financial corporations and venture capital firms endeavored to address these wealth inequities by pledging funds to more founders of color and toward programs that address inclusion, representation and diversity.
There are mentorship programs gaining new members and striving to develop qualified leaders of color in underrepresented sectors. However, can this high-level support help overcome structural racism? And what does career success for these few top directors and owners mean for communities of color at large?
