The film “Senseless Smoke” is a story of trauma caused by street violence, and the healing and forgiveness needed to break generational cycles of violence. Created by members of the Roxbury-based organization “Teen Empowerment,” the film calls for taking “ownership” of violence through community dialogue.

“It reveals the conflicts within the community that our youth encounter and it will continue to corrupt their lives unless there is a change," said Israel Benoit, a 20 year old featured in "Senseless Smoke." In this segment from Greater Boston, watch highlights from the film project and hear the voices of its young cast and production members.
