We heard from GBH News' Tori Bedford with her latest episode of "The Check In," where she did indeed check in with a work-from-home mom who is also now tackling school from home with her four kids.

Then, over the summer, parents across the state were finding each other and forming so-called learning pods, groups of students of similar age and ability who could do school work together — either virtually or in person. But for some families, that option was out of reach.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester created learning pods for families they already serve in the community — those who need a bit more support, but don't have the resources to provide that. We heard about that project from Mary Kinsella Scannel, senior vice president of Education and Programming with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester.
