Three local hospitals are teaming up to implement a new program that would assist patients in need in obtaining access to stable housing, as part of a growing acknowledgment of the link between a healthy living environment and one’s physical and mental health.

Jim Braude was joined by two of the people leading the charge — Dr. Thea James, associate Chief Medical Officer at Boston Medical Center, and Dr. Shari Nethersole, executive director for community health at Boston Children’s Hospital — and Andres Del Castillo, a housing activist and organizer for City Life/Vida Urbana.
