Heather Goldstone, chief communications officer at the Woods Hole Research Center, spoke with Boston Public Radio on Tuesday about the parallels between the coronavirus crisis and the climate change crisis.
"We can't afford to lose sight of the climate crisis," Goldstone said. "Once the coronavirus crisis ends, which it will, we will still have a climate crisis, and a lot of the choices we make today will impact what we're up against."
Since there is so much public support and buy-in towards solving the coronavirus crisis, Goldstone hopes that similar support can be applied towards the climate change crisis.
"Maybe we can come out of this [coronavirus crisis] with a sense that we are capable of dramatic collective action and that we can use that in other ways," she said.
