A day after choosing to side with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the question of Russian interference in the 2016 American election, Donald Trump attempted to salvage his relationship with the intelligence community and his own party. Following an outcry from journalists, Democrats, and some leading Republicans, Trump claimed Tuesday that he misspoke when he said he didn't see why it "would" be Russia that interfered in the American democratic process. He said he really meant "wouldn't."
