Boston, Mass. - (May. 19, 2025) - Lexington High School is the High School Quiz Show® Season 16 State Champion. Advancing through the bracket of GBH’s televised academic tournament, Lexington High School earned a spot in the May 17 finale, and faced off against Buckingham Browne & Nichols School to earn a fourth High School Quiz Show State Championship title with a final score of 465 to 340.
Hosted by Joe Hanson, creator and host of PBS’s Be Smart, High School Quiz Show showcases the academic aptitude of 17 teams from across the Commonwealth. The fast-paced annual tournament tests students’ knowledge in categories such as literature, math, history, science, civics, and current events. Season 16 of High School Quiz Show is available to stream in its entirety on highschoolquizshow.org, the High School Quiz Show YouTube channel, and PBS Passport.
Lexington made its first High School Quiz Show appearance in 2012, the show’s third season. The team earned its first two Championship titles in 2016’s Season 7 and 2017’s Season 8, with another title in 2024’s Season 15. Lexington joined the official Season 16 bracket after earning one of the top scores among over 60 schools at the Super Sunday qualifying event in November 2024.
