Impact

Parents and educators trust GBH to help children thrive. We create safe, kid-centered ecosystems that spark curiosity and support learning through storytelling and active fun, Beloved programs like Arthur, Acoustic Rooster and Scribbles and Ink nurture kindness, emotional intelligence, and creativity. Molly of Denali —the first Emmy-winning children’s series led by an Indigenous producer or actor—has delivered over half a billion streams and equips kids with literacy skills through games, books, podcasts, and more. With over half of U.S. kids lacking access to pre-k education, GBH reaches millions through multi-media initiatives like Work It Out Wombats! which, a randomized control trial found, boosts foundational coding skills and supports rural families through a national library partnership. Educators nationwide rely on PBS LearningMedia, which reached 15 million users last year, for trusted, standards-aligned resources that strengthen critical thinking and media literacy. Our research-backed approach helps close opportunity gaps and ensures every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
