Instead, they argue, Muslim women have been marginalized by cultural practices and patriarchal interpretations. One such advocate is Dr. Azizah Al-Hibriwho started a non-profit organization called Karamah with the goal of advancing the gender-equitable principles of Islam to Musllm women.
