Sarah S. Brophy

Sarah S. Brophy is a LEED Accredited Professional, helping clients develop and fund sustainable museums. She advises on institutional greening through planning and green team coaching, and creates grants development plans and prepare grant applications for green projects and other museum interests. Brophy began her career with museum training at Colonial Williamsburg. She earned her Masters in American History from the College of William & Mary, Virginia, and a Certificate in History Administration Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Since then she has been employed in museums in Massachusetts, Colorado, New York, and Virginia. For the last 17 years she has been working independently for organizations in New England and now in the Mid-Atlantic states. Brophy has been a board member and president of the American Association of Museum Volunteers (AAMV), chair of the American Association of Museums' (AAM) Council of Affiliates, and its representative to the AAM Board. She is the author of *The Green Museum* and *Is Your Museum Grant-Ready?*, and also writes about museums in local and regional papers and magazines. Her articles on grantsmanship appear regularly on *Charity Channel's Grants & Foundation Review*.
