Maria Esposito Frank is Associate Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. She has published a book on fifteenth-century humanistic debates over the reappropriation of classical authors, Le Insidie dell' allegoria Ermolao Barbaro il Vecchio e la lezione degli antichi (Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, 1999). She also has published articles on Alberti, Machiavelli, and Dante in European and North American journals.
