Frank Bruni worked for *The New York Times*, *The Detroit Free Press* and *The New York Post*. He was the Washington D.C. bureau chief from 1998 until 2002 and the Rome bureau chief from 2002 until 2004. He covered the presidential campaign of George W. Bush, then the first eight months of George W. Bush's presidency then went on to write *The New York Times* bestseller about George W. Bush, *Ambling into History* and co-wrote *A Gospel of Shame: Children, Sexual Abuse and the Catholic Church*.
