Darra Goldstein
founding editor, Gastronomica
As founding editor of *Gastronomica*, Darra is at the forefront of food studies in the US. She regularly appears on radio and television to comment on trends in American eating habits. Her own culinary research has focused on the cuisines of Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, as well as on the cultural history of flatware. Outside the classroom she has served as a restaurant consultant, exhibition curator, and advisor to various individuals and organizations. Based on her work with the Council of Europe, Darra is currently exploring ways in which food can be used to promote tolerance and diversity in an increasingly fractious world.
