President Joe Biden got his third dose of Pfizer Monday, although the public messaging leading up to the event has a lot of people still scratching their heads about who else can get a booster, and when.

Jim Braude was joined on Greater Boston by Dr. Davidson Hamer, an infectious disease physician at Boston Medical Center and professor at Boston University School of Public Health and Boston University School of Medicine; and Dr. Asaf Bitton, executive director of Ariadne Labs, which is affiliated with Brigham & Women’s Hospital and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. They both said more communication and clear messaging is needed around boosters.

"What I tell people and what I tell my patients: This is the case where we’re probably going to get the answers and recommendations, like we will for the kids, in a few weeks or less,” Bitton said. “So right now, hold tight. If you’re in a high-risk group, then absolutely [you] should get the booste — talk to your doctor.”
