The next big test for the state's health insurance website comes Sunday when the next round of open enrollment begins.
The Health Connector website infamously failed in 2013 after being upgraded to comply with federal Affordable Care Act standards. This November 1 will see the launch of the open enrollment period, where those without health insurance can use the site to select and pay for coverage plans.
Health Connector Executive Director Louis Gutierrez is optimistic.
"We're looking forward to a stable and sound open enrollment that allows our current members to easily renew coverage for 2016, and brings new people into the ranks of the insured," he said.
Traffic hitting the site next week will be the first major test of the Connector software since Gov. Charlie Baker took office and made correcting the system a priority.
The Connector is opening four new walk-in centers to help people sign up for insurance in Lowell, Brockton, Fall River and Springfield.
The open enrollment period runs through January.
