The week kicked off with formal start to President Obama's second term. He's got a lofty list of goals, from climate change to gay rights, but his inaugural address has almost been overshadowed — as these things are — by the Beyoncé lip-sync controversy. Did she? Didn't she? Does anybody really care?
Sec. of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. John Kerry both testified on Capitol Hill this week. Clinton spoke on the Libyan terrorist attacks, and Kerry interviewed for Clinton's job.
Meanwhile, Deval Patrick outlined his 2014 budget this week, to the tune of nearly $35 billion dollars. That includes a proposed tax on candy, soda and cigarettes.
Emily Rooney was joined by Sen. Robert Hedlund, Prof. Peniel Joseph, and attorney Wendy Kaminer.
