Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in what appears to be a response to the spread of disinformation on the social media platform, announced Monday during a conversation with journalist and publisher Mathias Döpfner that Facebook is considering creating dedicated news tab.

“You know, in News Feed, primarily people come to the service to connect with friends, to get updates on people’s day to day lives. There’s a lot of news content in there because it’s so important. But there’s a lot of people who have a demand to want more news,” Zuckerber said.

Tech writer, blogger and podcaster Andy Ihnatko joined Boston Public Radio to talk about what a dedicated news tab could do to curb the spread of fake news and how big tech continues to change the way we absorb news.
