Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman argues the Republican Party at large now refuses to accept the legitimacy of any victory by the other side, leaving them in a “doom loop of bizzaro” that is virtually impossible for members to escape. “It’s essentially impossible that a critical mass of the existing party is going to return to planet Earth,” Krugman said when he joined Jim Braude. And as for the possibility of cross-aisle compromise, Krugman sees almost no chance, which is why he argues President Joe Biden is right to go big and bold with his $1.9 billion coronavirus relief plan.
