A new executive order signed by President Trump on Wednesday could change the way that federal anti-discrimination laws are applied in cases of alleged hate incidents against Jewish Americans. The order instructs the government to “consider” the definition of anti-Semitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The Trump administration has said the change is needed to fight anti-Semitism on college campuses, but some critics have questioned these motives and raised concerns about its impact on free speech.
