Presidents can be defined, and remembered, for the ways they embraced the eras in which they governed:   FDR and the New Deal; John Kennedy and the Space Age; and Lyndon Johnson and the Great Society.   Will the next chapter be Donald Trump and social media? Let's face it, the president-elect likes to say a lot in a 140 characters or less.  The question is whether he just likes to share, or if this is part of a shrewd strategy to divert attention from other matters.  Jim Braude ( @jimbraude ) discusses this with U.S News and World Reports Managing Editor for News, Lylah Alphonse ( @writeeditrepeat ) and Todd Belt, ( @todd_belt ) a visiting lecturer at Wellesley College.

The Kennedy family is well known for their Catholic faith.  One member, Mark Shriver, a nephew of the nation’s one and only Catholic president, struggled with his relationship with the Church, describing himself onetime as “skeptical, disillusioned, and uncertain whether the Church remained a force for good in the world.”  Shriver has written a new book, “Pilgrimage:  My search for the real Pope Francis”.  He stopped by  @greaterboston  to discuss it with Jim.

There have been some disturbing stories about the proliferation of fake news on sites like Facebook and Google.  Jim digs into the breadth of the problem and why bigger problems it creates.
