It’s a debate that last raged in 2004, when the name “Arnold Schwarzenegger” was being batted around as a presidential candidate.

Now, it’s Kingston resident Alena Mulhern leading the charge. She was born in China, was adopted here and became a citizen when she was ten months old. 

She’s written to the White House, her request accompanied by a petition signed by dozens of classmates. But after she got stock responses from both President Obama and the first lady, she recently headed to the state house to make her case there.
