Recently the Boston Parks Department turned to a novel idea to help clear poison ivy, oak and sumac: goatscaping. The Parks Department tapped The Goatscaping Company to clear unwanted plants. As an added benefit the goats contribute fertilizer (goat excrement) back into the environment.

Friday on Boston Public Radio, cofounders Jim Cormier and Elaine Philbrick stopped by — with baby goats in tow! — to compete on the Friday News Quiz. Butternut and Birch, the two baby goats, did not compete but instead sat by, gamely, munching on discarded paper sheets.
