A jury in Fall River deliberated for a sixth day over whether former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez is guilty of murder.
The question before the jury is what role Hernandez played in the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancée. His bullet-riddled body was found in a North Attleboro industrial park in June of 2013. Prosecutors say Hernandez drove Lloyd there and shot him, but presented a mostly circumstantial case. Hernandez’s defense attorney acknowledged in her closing argument that Hernandez was there when Lloyd was killed, but that the murder was committed by the two other men who have also been charged with the killing. In addition to murder, Hernandez is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. If Hernandez is found not guilty, he'll still remain in custody. He’s also charged in a 2012 double murder in Boston.
