Deborah Hughes is Chief Executive Officer of Brookview House, a Dorchester and Roxbury nonprofit that serves homeless women and their children.

Last year, Hughes received a "Be the Change" award from the Massachusetts Conference for Women in recognition for her work at Brookview House.
Brookview House serves approximately 350 mothers and children every year. Hughes said an astounding 92 percent of those who pass through Brookview House never become homeless again.
