Turn on the television lately, and it’s a barrage of bad news about a world seemingly in meltdown. As Islamic extremists seize huge swathes of Iraq and Syria and executing innocents, Hamas and Israel are trading rockets and air strikes, Russia is arming separatists and sending heavy weapons into Ukraine, and the list goes on.

And all the while, there’s Secretary of State John Kerry in the background working the phones and flying around the world in pursuit of cease fires and peace plans.
