Taped by WGBH Forum Network, historian John Demos visited Harvard Book Store with Pulitzer-Prize winning author Megan Marshall to discuss Demos' book, The Heathen School: A Story of Hope and Betrayal in the Age of the Early Republic.
Demos talks about the sources he used for the story and how he came across the tale serendipitously. He also touches on why he think it's important for historians to write about failures as well as successes.
