While many Massachusetts voters will be casting their ballots in person on Tuesday for the state primary election, Secretary of State William Galvin says more than 800,000 people have already turned in their ballots, mostly by mail, accounting for more than three-quarters of the total expected turnout. The increase in participation comes amidst several high-profile state races, including the contentious Senate battle between Sen. Ed Markey and Rep. Joe Kennedy III, the fight for the 4th District House seat that Kennedy left behind, and the race between 16-term Rep. Richard Neal and Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse.
