Chris Dempsey told Boston Public Radio on Tuesday that fears of being in public spaces may impact the MBTA's operations as people adjust to the new normal during the pandemic. Dempsey said the T has been "leading the nation" in their COVID-19 response, with flex scheduling on routes that have high ridership and a cleaning regimen, but local leaders can do better to quell people's concerns about transmission on public transit.

Chris Dempsey is director of Transportation for Massachusetts and former assistant secretary of Transportation.
