The Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons has long been where Boston area big whigs go to dine, but according to Boston Globe business columnist Shirley Leung, many say they won't returnuntil the company starts treating its employees better after learning the five star hotel has unceremoniously laid off nearly half its staff.

"Covering the business community, the who's who eat luncheons, have power breakfasts, at the Bristol Lounge," Leung told Boston Public Radio on Tuesday. "So I reached out to the powerful who dined there, and said, are you going to go back? Are you going to say something to management?"

Resoundingly, said Leung, they were outraged that the company put on airs of caring about the people that they say make the restaurant a step above the rest.

According to the Boston Globe, the employees were told they would be able to reapply, but not offered their full severance. The Four Seasons has been closed since March.

"If you think about the four seasons, it is nothing without its people," said Leung. "The reason why Four Seasons is heads and shoulers above other hotel chains is because they train their employees to treat their customers or guests like family."
