Update: Shortly after Beat the Press recorded this conversation, The Boston Globe announced that columnist Kevin Cullen has been suspended for three months, without pay, for violations of the company's ethics policy. The suspension was related to statements he made in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings, at least one of which an outside panel determined was "a complete fabrication."

The Boston Globe has dropped its lawsuit against former Boston.com employee Hilary Sargent, who accused editor Brian McGrory of sexual misconduct, but many questions remain about the status of any ongoing investigation(s) into Sargent’s claims. It has also been almost a month since the Globe launched a review into Kevin Cullen's work, after he was accused of fabricating stories.
