A Celtic Sojourn: Easter Segment, April 2021.
Updated

I have always enjoyed putting together playlists that fit a particular mood or reflective time. Easter for me is one of those times, and my mind and emotions often turn to spiritual musings... from The Dark Nights of the Soul to the hope that comes with this time of year; renewal, resurrection, and spring.

Celtic-influenced religious music is really a mixed bag inspired by meditation, inspirations from the stories of the bible, from spiritual poetry, from nature. John O’Donohue for example, the late Celtic spiritual thinker, wrote eloquently on the topic especially in his wonderful book Anam Cara which means "soul friend." O’Donoghue’s writings have influenced many musicians over the years and some of that music is in this playlist.

So for the next 75 minutes or so, I invite you to listen to what I have put together. And let me know what you think. And if there is a particular piece you might suggest I include in the future, send me an email, celtic@wgbh.org.
