Last week the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association came under fire for publishing racist and sexist content in its bi-monthly newsletter. A few newsletter advertisers have since pulled their ads, and the union issued a statement about the newsletter, which was written by BPPA member Jim Carnell. Rather than issue an apology, the BPAA has defended Carnell's writing and their decision to publish it, leaving many outraged that those whose duty is to serve and protect Boston may actually be bigoted.
