Former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick joined Jim Braude on Greater Boston to discuss his work advising the Biden administration on the future of technology, the state of national politics and the bombshell report regarding New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and numerous allegations of sexual harassment.

With the White House, Patrick is looking at the proliferation of misinformation, which he says is a “serious” issue for public health and the preservation of democracy. He also emphasized his continuing work on ensuring access to high-speed internet for underserved communities.

“Access is sometimes the availability of the basic service, and in other cases, it’s the affordability of the service,” he said. “High speed internet is not a luxury, it’s not about entertainment. It’s about education and healthcare and commerce and your ability to participate in the larger civic and economic life of your community."

Patrick did not call outright for Gov. Cuomo to resign, but said the allegations should be taken seriously. “These are very very serious charges from a very credible source,” he said. “There does have to be a reckoning. If my opinion counts for anything, he’ll take these allegations seriously and not dismiss them out of hand.”
