Rupa Shenoy

Reporter

Rupa Shenoy started out as a reporter for a monthly investigative magazine in Chicago. She went on to work for Chicago's largest suburban daily newspaper, where her investigation of a former Superfund site led the EPA to order another cleanup of the neighborhood build on that site. At the Associated Press in Chicago she covered the arrest of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, the murders of Jennifer Hudson's family, and the election of President Barack Obama. She transitioned to radio when she joined Minnesota Public Radio, one of the largest public radio newsrooms in the country. There, Rupa's coverage of civilly committed sex offenders held indefinitely by the state led to reform ordered by the Minnesota Supreme Court. She joined WGBH News in 2013, covering the Market Basket protests for the station, and recently completing two major series on water and food. Rupa has also taught college journalism.
