President Donald Trump is, so far, not backing down from his proposed tariffs on Mexican imports, which are set to take effect June 10 — despite a skittish market response, warnings from economists about the impacts on American jobs, and a rare threat from Republican senators to block his plan. Meanwhile, challenger Sen. Elizabeth Warren has released her plan to increase jobs and incomes for some of the same working- and middle-class workers that could be hurt the most by tariffs — a move she has branded as "economic patriotism."

Following the earlier momentum of the #MeToo movement, some high-profile figures who were publicly accused seem to have bounced back. Woody Allen, who has long been accused by his adoptive daughter of sexual molestation, though he has repeatedly denied the claims, is now set to start filming a new movie in Europe;
Kevin Spacey, who has denied allegations he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old in 2016, appeared in a Massachusetts courtroom this week; and former Sen. Al Franken, who was accused multiple times of sexual misconduct, which he denied, got sympathy from presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg in a recent interview.
