Rosa Brooks has spent much of her career examining the intersection of law and violence in this country, including as a Georgetown law professor and a former official in the Department of Defense and Department of State. In 2016, she signed up to be a volunteer reserve police officer in the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department to understand more about the world of policing. Brooks joined Jim Braude to discuss her findings as detailed in her new book, "Tangled Up In Blue: Policing The American City."
