Juliette Kayyem told Boston Public Radio on Monday that the United States will not return to any semblance of normalcy until late 2021, due to its lack of national response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the timetable for vaccine production.

"I cannot see it," she said. "Late 2021 is when the U.S. might start feeling normal again."

Juliette Kayyem is an analyst for CNN, former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security and faculty chair of the homeland security program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
