Mayor Walsh, School Leaders Push Back On DeVos Title IX Plan
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and some of the city's top educators and advocates joined together today to formally speak out against proposed changes to Title IX, the federal law that prevents discrimination on the basis of sex – and, as such, regulates how colleges handle accusations of sexual assault and harassment. The proposed new rule would narrow the definition of sexual harassment, change the standard of proof required, and – perhaps most significantly – require schools to handle accusations like a court of law, including cross-examination of the alleged victim.
To talk about this change – as well as other key issues affecting college campuses today — Jim Braude was joined by Emerson College president Lee Pelton and Berklee College of Music president Roger Brown.

The members of the band Guster met as freshmen at Tufts University in 1991 — and they’re still going strong twenty years later. Their first mainstream hit was "Fa Fa," which they played at Woodstock '99.
