The World Health Organization is on high alert as the death toll from Ebola in West Africa nears 900, with more than 1,300 people infected.  It’s the worst outbreak of the deadly disease in history

A spokesman from MassPort said there’s little threat of Ebola spreading in this region because there are no direct flights into Logan from West Africa, and major airlines like British Airways are no longer flying to that region.

Dr. Daniel Kuritzkes, the chief of the Infectious Diseases Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, discussed the threat Ebola poses and the efforts to control and treat it.
