In February, John Abdallah Wambere arrived in Boston on a temporary visa from Uganda. Then, just three days after Wambere got here, Uganda’s president signed legislation making homosexuality punishable by life in prison. Wambere is now seeking asylum in the United States, but his temporary visa expires at midnight tonight.

Janson Wu is a lawyer with Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders who helped Wambere file for asylyum and joined him on set to talk about the process.
