While the pandemic has impacted the mental health of many, it especially lay bare long-standing issues among restaurant workers, who work in high-stress jobs — often dependent on tip wages — and can be exposed to high levels of workplace or sexual harassment.

McLean Hospital in Belmont is teaming up with the group RISE Hospitality and other industry leaders for a virtual discussion on how to address these challenges in the field. Jim Braude was joined by two of the panel members: Dr. Ipsit Vahai, medical director of the McLean Institute for Technology in Psychiatry; and Douglass Williams, the chef and owner of MIDA.
