Sen. Ed Markey may have a new challenger in Rep. Joe Kennedy III, according to reports that the congressman’s team has done internal polling to test the theoretical match-up. Such a race would be just the latest in a trend of longtime Massachusetts incumbents facing unexpected primary challenges from fellow Democrats, following the successful campaigns of Reps. Ayanna Pressley and Seth Moulton. Kennedy's team has publicly said that he plans to run for re-election. The news comes as Markey’s team releases an endorsement video from Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
