A former director of constituent services for Boston City Councilor Michelle Wu is among 29 people arrested on gun and drug charges in two major crime sting operations by federal agents.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling held a news conference Thursday morning at the federal courthouse in Boston. Lelling said Gary Webster was among 29 charged in the Boston-area crime operations dubbed 'Operation Landshark' and 'Operation Nor'easter.' Prosecutors say Webster is accused of trying to sell heroin, cocaine and fentanyl on five separate occasions.

Wu's office tells WGBH News that Gary Webster has not worked as the director of constituent services for about one year. Wu's office says they expect to issue a statement at a later time.
