The man accused of shooting two Falmouth police officers late last week was arraigned from his hospital bed Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson for District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said 21-year-old Malik Koval was arraigned on multiple charged connected to Friday evening's shooting in East Falmouth that left officers Ryan Moore and Donald DeMirandainjured.

Moore and DeMiranda are expected to recover.

Koval plead not guilty to the charges which include two counts of assault to murder and carrying a loaded firearm without a license — among others, officials said.

Koval, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds during Friday's altercation, remains hospitalized at Brigham and Women's. He is being held without bail and his next hearing is scheduled for August 23, prosecutors said.
