Molly Boigon is a former associate producer and reporter for Learning Curve, WGBH’s K-12 education desk. She has also worked for Boston Public Radio and WGBH’s higher education desk, On Campus. Her interests include jazz, yoga and public records requests. Before joining WGBH, she worked at SiriusXM, WZBC and WAAF. She has a degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College’s Lynch School of Education.

A month ago, John Nucci was fighting for his life with his kidneys operating at 2 percent. Today, he’s thriving, thanks to kidney donor Kerri Abrams and Dr. Nahel Elias.

Boston Public Radio was joined yesterday by John Nucci, who is the Vice President of External Affairs at Suffolk University, kidney donor Kerri Abrams and Dr. Nahel Elias, the surgical director of Kidney Transplantation and chair of Quality Improvement at the Transplant Center at Massachusetts General Hospital.

These three guests explained the process of finding and donating a kidney, plus more logistics behind the remarkable procedure of a kidney transplant.
