After months of threats and criticism, this afternoon President Trump made it official, announcing that the U.S. will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal. The 2015 multi-nation agreement was one of President Obama’s signature foreign policy achievements, but critics, including Trump, argued it didn’t go far enough.

So, what does this mean for the U.S. and for talks with North Korea? Jim Braude was joined by Jim Walsh, a senior research associate at MIT's security studies program, who has also been involved in past nuclear discussions in Iran and North Korea.
