Nearly two months have passed since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, which sparked student-led, nationwide protests calling for gun control and renewed efforts by state lawmakers to take up gun legislation. 

The Massachusetts legislature is considering joining seven other states in enacting a “red flag” law that would allow courts to issue protection orders to temporarily confiscate firearms from people who pose a significant danger.  WGBH Legal Analyst and Northeastern Law Professor Daniel Medwed spoke about the “red flag” bill, currently pending in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
