Last month, 22-year-old medical student Deane Stryker was studying at her town library in Winchester when she was stabbed 20 times and killed. The more we learn about the man accused, the more disturbing the case becomes. We now know that 23-year-old Jeffrey Yao was well known to police, having frequently exhibited threatening behavior going back to his days in high school. Police had brought him to the hospital for psychological evaluations several times over the last few years where he was frequently treated.
Jim Braude was joined by Yao’s attorney, J.W. Carney Jr., who says his client was delusional at the time and did not know the victim.
