The annual South Boston St. Patrick's Day breakfast could look a bit different this year now that Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry has resigned her seat in the Senate and given up the hosting duties.

When Forry resigned as the senator from South Boston and Dorchester, the annual corn beef-flavored sing-along session lost its host as well as it's biggest fundraiser.

Now, South Boston politicians are trying to determine what's next. Forry, the area's city councilors, state Rep. Nick Collins, U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch and Mayor Marty Walsh have been involved in talks about who should host, how large the venue should be, who's going to pay for it or whether the event will happen this year at all.

A source with knowledge of a meeting this week with the major players told WGBH News they hope to come to a decision on the size and location of the breakfast Friday.
